Enable QUIC/HTTP3 in Browsers

QUIC/HTTP3 is a modern transport protocol that enhances how data is exchanged between browsers and web servers. Currently, approximately 35% of websites support HTTP/3, with adoption projected to rise to nearly 90% in the coming years. This protocol offers improved security, faster connections, and better responsiveness compared to its predecessors. While most modern browsers include support for HTTP/3 by default, they may still fall back to HTTP/2 if certain conditions aren’t met. By adjusting the settings as outlined below, you can ensure your browser prioritizes HTTP/3—provided the web server is also configured to support it. CaseFox servers are HTTP/3 enabled and users should see better responsiveness.

Enable QUIC/HTTP3 in Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, type chrome://flags and press Enter.
  3. Search for Experimental QUIC protocol.
  4. In the dropdown menu next to it, select Enabled.
  5. Click the Relaunch button at the bottom to restart Chrome.

Enable QUIC/HTTP3 in Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. In the address bar, type edge://flags and press Enter.
  3. Search for Experimental QUIC protocol.
  4. In the dropdown menu next to it, select Enabled.
  5. Click the Restart button at the bottom to relaunch Edge.

Enable QUIC/HTTP3 in Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.
  3. Click Accept the Risk and Continue.
  4. In the search bar, type network.http.http3.enabled.
  5. If the value is false, double-click on it to change it to true or click on the button on the far right.
  6. Close and restart Firefox.

After following these steps and restarting your browser, QUIC/HTTP3 should be enabled.
